We are very proud to announce a unique new venture in the Central Tuli! Together with the Molema Community Trust we are developing, constructing and operating two new camps in this virtual undisturbed wilderness area. The area is no less close to 5000 hectares and offers lions, leopards, cheetah, elephants, eland and the illusive Brown Hyena. On top of this it is home to a large breeding colony of cape vultures and thousands of bee-eaters.
This is the first time dedicated 4-5 nights walking safaris will be held in the Tuli, not only in a luxury way but in a normally inaccessible, rugged, wild area. The trails take over and through beautiful mountain ridges, koppies, valleys, dry river beds and through riparian forest areas. Observe herds of elephants in the distance, cross leopard and lion tracks. Home of the leopards and the hyenas, we set up camp on a new location every other day

Mountainbike lovers can enjoy much excitement here in Central Tuli! Work your way through a world of arid plains and sandy river beds where dust devils can eat their hearts out! Your experienced specialist field guide will guide you through an amazing wilderness in remote Africa, The Central Tuli game reserve! This is a “big game” wilderness reserve with sightings of herds of elephants, impala antelopes, zebras, and crocodiles to name a few.
Guests will be following ancient elephant migration paths and cycling through scenery dotted with wildlife that will take your breath away.
A maximum of 8 people are allowed on the trail and no more than 4 small but comfortable tents will be taken with us. The highlight of the camp is the main tent where one can relax, eat or drink and watch nature revolve around you. Moreover, the uniqueness is that the whole camp has been designed by the local communities, manufactured by the local communities, is decorated by the local craftspeople, and.. operated by local well-trained guides.
The combination of our landscape and nature, the camp and our staff will make this one of the most unique field trails Camps in Botswana.
Conservation Initiatives
Conservation tourism is the core of all our operations and is very important to Albert Hartog, founder of The Africa Experience, Albert set up a foundation, TIMBO AFRIKA to fund and support numerous conservation and community projects.
At Koro, TIMBO AFRIKA funds an accredited PhD level field study, focussing on the ecology of leopards and hyenas of the Tuli. This includes the highly endangered Kalahari icon, the brown hyena. We invite our guests to participate in monitoring activities and field observations. Our deep rooted philanthropic and conservation passion has created various community development programs. A ‘bee barrier’ project is underway to help alleviate elephant conflict with local farmers, and wildlife education programs are supported at the Mathathane primary school. Visits to the village sites outside are highly recommended. All tourism profits go directly back to the foundation to be plowed back into the conservation of the area, its cultural heritage and its people
