About Machangulo Beach Villa

The villa has been thoughtfully designed, built on stilts to lower the impact on the environment and situated amongst the dunes for maximum privacy. The spacious accommodation has three large bedroom suites in individual cottages. All have large decks and bathrooms that have wide sweeping ocean views. The main building has a fully equipped open plan kitchen and dining room, that opens to the deck and swimming pool. A separate lounge and a separate television room also open to the deck. On the main deck, there are several covered and open lounge areas for relaxation. A garage and staff accommodation are included in the property. A team of two staff are employed to take care of guests.

Nestled in a secluded stretch of coastline within the Marine Reserve of Maputo National Park, this villa offers a rare blend of untouched nature and luxurious comfort. Located on a pristine peninsula east of Maputo, the villa is bordered by the warm waters of the Indian Ocean to the east and the tranquil Maputo Bay to the west.

Just an hour’s boat ride from Maputo Marina, you’ll arrive at a 16km expanse of golden beach, shared only with a handful of distant villas. Here, solitude is a luxury you’ll enjoy daily—whether strolling along the shore or relaxing in the shade of beautiful, coastal riverine bush, home to vibrant birdlife and small game.

To the south lies the breathtaking Maputo National Park, where elephants, buffalo, hippos, and flamingos roam freely among inland lakes and lush terrain. From July to November, witness the majestic whale migration from your deck, or spot playful dolphins and nesting Loggerhead and Leatherback turtles on the beach.

Though remote, the villa offers every comfort and is fully staffed. A maximum of 6 guests can be accommodated in 3 spacious en-suite rooms, all with ocean views and direct access to the swimming pool. For guests seeking peace and quiet will find it in abundance, while those craving a taste of local culture can visit the nearby village of Santa Maria (just 40 minutes away), where a charming beachfront restaurant serves fresh, flavourful seafood.
