What is a Leopard Experience?
Our exclusive mandate is to showcase and market the Conservation Safari Experience of researching, monitoring and tracking the elusive and secretive Leopard population (Panthera pardus). But also the brown hyena, also called strandwolf, plays a role in this. It is currently the rarest species of hyena on the African continent.
Timbo Foundation alongside our trained guides and trackers, have methodically and sustainably developed a safari product to support conservation of the leopard populations in the Tuli Block region in its entirety. During your 5 night / 6 day stay, we will spend most of our time with the resident research leopard monitoring team, which oversees the daily observation and data collection of both the species in the area. Leave with your specialist safari guides and researchers before sunrise, when chances are high to spot these elusive animals. Learn about the team’s process, goals, and challenges, in addition to the rich ecology of the Central Tuli Wilderness.
Monitoring and track the behavior, feeding patterns and territorial habitats, including the ongoing conservation threats faced by the various individual leopards. Spend most of the morning and late afternoons tracking on foot through the bush—a truly exhilarating experience unlike any other. Not only are you participating in key conservation and education work, you’ll have the chance to come face to face with one of Africa’s most majestic and endangered predators!
Costs per person sharing: USD 6,375 Koro River Camp, Koro Island Camp USD 4,850 per person sharing.
NOTE: we normally have no age restriction as we even provide special Children Safari’s, however for The Leopard Experience 9 years is the minimum age and the child must be accompanied by a parent at all times.
Safari package tour includes:
accompanied by expert safari guide and/or leopard researcher throughout
